Free CV check

See how your CV reads to the ATS bots.

An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is software most companies use to scan and rank CVs before a human ever sees them. If it can't read yours, you never hear back. Free — about two minutes, no account needed.

Cass starts reading the moment your file loads. Your CV isn't stored — the scan happens and that's it.

What this check actually looks at

Cass reads your CV the way an Applicant Tracking System does, then reports where it breaks. Four things decide most of the score:

  • Parseability. Whether the machine can extract your text at all. Two-column layouts get read out of order, tables and text boxes are skipped, and details in a header or footer are frequently dropped — so a CV that looks immaculate can arrive as a name and nothing else.
  • Wording. Screening runs on the language of the job ad. Describing the same work in different words is the most common reason a genuinely qualified person scores low.
  • Evidence. Numbers, budgets, team sizes and outcomes, rather than a list of duties.
  • Level. Whether the seniority your CV signals matches the roles you are applying for — the mismatch that quietly costs UAE applicants the most interviews.

If you want the layout rules rather than a score, read the UAE CV format guide.

Common questions

What is an ATS?
An Applicant Tracking System is software employers use to collect and rank applications. Most UAE employers of any size run one — Greenhouse, Workday, Taleo, SuccessFactors and Oracle are common here. It reads your CV into a database before a recruiter sees it, and anything it fails to read is effectively missing from your application.
Why is my CV rejected by an ATS?
Usually layout rather than experience. Two-column designs get read out of order, tables and text boxes are skipped, contact details placed in a header or footer are often dropped entirely, and skills saved inside an image are invisible. The second cause is wording: the system matches the words on the job ad, so a CV describing the same work in different language scores low.
Is this CV check really free?
Yes. The scan runs without an account and there is no card. You create a free account to see the score and the fixes, and to let Cass search UAE job boards for roles that match your CV.
What file format works best for an ATS?
A single-column PDF exported from a word processor, or a .docx. Avoid PDFs exported from design tools like Canva, InDesign or Figma — they frequently produce text an ATS cannot extract, which is why a CV can look perfect on screen and arrive empty.
Does Cass store my CV?
Not for the anonymous check — the scan runs and the text is discarded. If you create an account, your CV is saved to your account so Cass can score jobs against it, and you can delete it at any time.
What is a good ATS score?
Treat anything below 70 as a formatting or wording problem worth fixing before you apply again. There is no universal pass mark — every employer configures its own filters — so the score is a measure of how cleanly your CV survives being machine-read, not a prediction of whether you get the job.
